LOL Surprise! Series 3 Confetti Pop Wave 1 was launched in December 2017, just in time for Christmas.
Just a month or so earlier, Series 3 Pets were premiered with super cute pets that coordinated with other LOL tots and lil sisters AND had sand that little ones could dig in to find surprises.
Series 3 Confetti Pop Wave 2 came out about 4 months after Wave 1.
Series 3 Confetti Pop has 36 tots (big sisters) and 39 lil sisters.

Confetti Pop also brought some exciting new additions and changes to the world of LOL Surprise…
1. The surprise ball packaging is yellow…
But the balls may be yellow or glittery brown (if the LOL doll is in The Glitterati).
2. Confetti Pop Tots have 9 surprises instead of 7!
In previous series, tots dolls had 7 surprises. Series 3 Confetti Pop now has 9:
- Secret message sticker
- Water surprise sticker
- Ring tattoo
- Bottle
- Shoes
- Outfit
- Accessory
- Confetti pop
- Doll
Ring tattoos–just like the ones from charm fizz–are now included with lol tots.
The extra layers make the new balls slightly bigger than in previous series.
Normal inside balls are pink. If you find the ball inside is gold, your little one has found an ultra rare lol doll.
Once you have opened most of the ball, you can pull the string to have confetti pop out of your surprise ball!
3. The unboxing is different.
Unboxing for confetti pop lol dolls is new and different from before:
- To unbox the new balls, you go around the circle rather than just zipping down big pieces.
- After the ring tattoo layer, there’s a spin dial on the top that let’s you open up any layer. For a demonstration, watch the unboxing videos below from some of our favorite youtubers.
- Snap off the flaps on the ball to get to the lol blind bags.
4. Water surprises are shown on the collectible poster.
Before Series 2 wave 2, the same doll might tinkle, spit, cry, or color change. Now, the features are standardized so the same dolls have the same water surprises.
In addition, most water surprises are now shown on the collectible poster so you don’t need to wonder which LOL doll does what.
But…
There is still one surprise here…
5. Some dolls have a 5th mystery surprise.
While most water surprises are on the poster, some dolls have a question mark (?) mystery surprise.
SPOILER ALERT: The rumors are that these dolls have water coming out of their ears.
6. The new lol color change is cold and hot activated.
The color change is now activated by cold water and warm water. In fact, if you touch the lol doll with your hand, she will start to change colors from the heat of your hand.
Cold water color change usually gives the lol confetti doll a bathing suit, face mask, or other swimming look. You can also use cold water to turn the doll back to normal after a warm water change.
Dip in the lol doll accessories and see if they change too…
7. Some dolls are OMW (on my way). Others are napping.
The wave 1 collector’s poster shows the dolls that are “on my way”… for wave 2. The wave 2 collector’s poster will show the dolls that were in wave 1 as “napping.”
Which means more are coming soon!
8. There are new clubs.
Series 3 Confetti Pop brings 4 new clubs for tots and little sisters:
- Rock Club: These are some “bad” rocker chicks. Expect funky hair and cool clothes.
- Swim Club: These babies love to swim! The 2 dolls launched already have cool big sunglasses and cute swimsuits.
- Sleepover Club: Sleepover cuties are ready for bedtime fun. Great pajamas, hair rollers, eye masks, and more.
- S.T.E.M. Club: The dolls of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) Club are ready to showcase their smarts and tech-savvy.
9. There are 2 different dolls on Wave 1 and Wave 2 balls.
Not sure if you’re buying from wave 1 or wave 2? Take a look at the doll on the ball.
Wave 1 balls feature V.R.Q.T.
However, wave 2 balls show Snuggle Babe.
So why does the wave that you buy matter? Different dolls have been included in wave 1 and wave 2. If you like some more than others, you increase your chance of getting a doll you’ll love by buying in the right wave.
10. There are 2 boy LOL dolls!
Series 3 Wave 2 introduced 2 new boy LOL dolls to the family. Punk Boi and Lil Punk Boi are super cool and super fun. Check out our complete write up of the new LOL boys here. The boy LOL dolls can ONLY be found in Series 3 Wave 2 balls.

We just opened a confetti pop series 3. But, our doll isn’t on the collectors guide!? She has pionk & white hair in a bow, a pink crop top and ruffle short, red shoes and a yellow water bottle. Any ideas?

There are a few possibilities I can think of:
1) There was manufacturer’s error and you have PHDBB but with the wrong outfit – it happens…
2) Maybe this isn’t a Series 3 Confetti Pop ball – if it’s a pink tube, you have Series 4 Eye Spy Under Wraps and maybe Suite Princess?
3) If you bought the doll off eBay or on Amazon but not shipped and sold by Amazon, you’ve got a fake. All the LOL dolls that get produced end up on the collector’s poster.
