The LOL Doll Love Begins
LOL Surprise Dolls showed up on my little girl’s radar around July.
First, she saw a couple of unboxing videos popular on Youtube because she was watching Kinder surprise egg videos.
Next, she asked me to download the LOL Surprise game available on Google Play. She loved playing it and wanted to “unbox” for real.
She was still interested in LOL dolls by the time her birthday rolled around in October. Now it was time to buy.
The Hunt Begins
LOLs dolls were an easy item to recommend to moms buying for her birthday party (WIN!).
Even if they all bought LOL dolls, it was unlikely she would receive the same one from two people (WIN!).
The dolls are a little pricey and there are so many to collect, so getting them as birthday presents would be a cheap way (for me) to build her collection (WIN!).
The internet was full of promises that I could get them at Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, everywhere (WIN!).
But when the time came to buy…
There were no LOL surprise dolls to be found.
I frantically went from store to store trying to find the lol surprise toys to no avail.
They were gone…all gone…
I had stumbled into a magical vortex of time between the sell out of Series 1 and next release of Series 2.
Where was I going to find LOL dolls?
Problem Solved!
Then I checked Amazon.
I surfed through listings for hours, checked reviews, looked at seller reviews, and became saddened by the counterfeit market that has sprung up. Finally, after hours, I purchased some lol surprise balls.
The LOL dolls showed up just in time for my daughter’s birthday. They were as advertised (not LQL dolls =(). An additional fun benefit was that I told her the package was for her when it came to the door.
Remember how special it was when you got a letter as a kid?
