LOL Dolls Series 2 Guide

LOL Dolls Series 2 were launched a few months after the record breaking success of Series 1.

While Series 1 introduced the super cute LOL dolls based on all the latest toy trends (blind bags, collectibles, you get the idea), Series 2 expanded the LOL universe with new dolls, new clubs, and better construction.

Here’s what you need to know about Series 2 and how it improved upon Series 1.

1. The surprise ball packaging is green.

But the balls may be green, pink, or glittery brown (if the LOL doll is in The Glitterati).

2. There are 2 different dolls on wave 1 and wave 2 balls.

Each wave has different dolls in it. Check out the table down below to view the dolls in each wave.

Dolls from wave 1 are shown as NAPPING on the collector’s poster.

Series 2 wave 1 balls feature Bon Bon.

Series 2 wave 2 balls feature Miss Punk.

So why does the wave that you buy matter? Different dolls have been included in wave 1 and wave 2. If you like some more than others, you increase your chance of getting a doll you’ll love by buying in the right wave.

3. Series 2 tots have 7 surprises.

Tots dolls have 7 great surprises for your little one to enjoy.

1. Secret message sticker
2. Water surprise sticker
3. Bottle
4. Shoes
5. Outfit
6. Accessory
7. Doll

There’s also a collector poster included so you can see all the cuties included in LOL Dolls Series 2.

The secret message sticker is usually a clue to the doll included inside. However, we have seen plenty of balls in which this was not the case.

Normal inside balls are green or pink. If you find the ball inside is gold, your little one has found an ultra-rare LOL doll.

You can extend the unboxing experience by asking your little one to guess the doll she has by matching each clue or accessory to the dolls on the collector poster.

4. Series 2 lil sisters have 5 surprises.

Each tot has a coordinating little sister (baby). For example, if the tot is Kitty Queen, the lil sister is Lil Kitty Queen. The lil sister is styled like the tot doll, except she wears only a diaper.

Each lil sister comes with 5 surprises:

1. Secret message sticker
2. Water surprise sticker
3. Shoes
4. Accessory
5. Doll

You’ll find that the shoes and accessory that come with the lil sister are way too big. If you put them on, it looks cute but doesn’t fit. That’s because the shoes and accessory are sized to fit the big sister doll. (For some reason the makers of LOL dolls thought this was cute.)

Lil sisters have smaller balls and, fortunately, are cheaper than tots dolls.

Lil sisters tend to be more widely available than tots because the tots dolls are REALLY popular.

Keep in mind that if your little one asks for an LOL doll, she probably means a tot (big sister) NOT a lil sister.

5. The construction is better than Series 1.

Thankfully, the makers of LOL dolls improved the manufacturing process from Series 1 to Series 2. Common problems with Series 1 dolls included accessories ripping easily, color rubbing off the dolls, and poor feature (like lips and eyes) definition.

Most of these problems have been solved with Series 2 dolls. However, we have seen issues with dolls not receiving the correct accessories or missing items.

On the whole, though, LOL Dolls Series 2 is better made than Series 1.

6. There are 73 dolls in Series 2.

Series 1 included only 28 LOL dolls: 24 tots and 4 lil sisters.

Series 2 super sizes the LOL doll universe with a whopping 73 dolls. Yes, 73!

There are 36 tots and 47 lil sisters.

7. There are 4 possible water surprises for big sisters.

Just like in Series 1, there are 4 possible water surprises for LOL big sisters in Series 2. You won’t know what the surprise will be until you test the doll.

To check the LOL dolls water surprise, get some ice cold water and:

• Dunk the doll in the water to see if she changes color.
• Squeeze the head, place it in the water, and fill up the doll to see if she tinkles, cries, or spits.

Each doll will have at least 1 water surprise. However, water surprises are NOT uniform. So, if you have 2 Beats dolls, one may spit and the other may tinkle. The same doll does not necessarily have the same water surprise.

8. All lil sisters change color.

Dunk your lil sister in ice cold water to see her change color.

9. There are new clubs.

LOL Dolls Series 2 brings 6 new clubs for tots and little sisters:

• 24k Gold Club: There’s only one cutie in this club, Luxe, who is the rarest of all the LOL dolls.
• Hip Hop Club: Think 90s inspired hip hop with big hoop earrings, overalls, and headphones.
• Cosplay Club: These babies love dressing up and hitting raves in their wild outfits.
• Storybook Club: This club draws inspiration from popular children’s stories. The dolls in Series 2 are from Alice in Wonderland.
• Chill Out Club: LOL dolls inspired by vacations. For example, there’s Posh (Parisian vacation) and Cozy Babe (ski trip).
• Retro Club: Super cute 1950s classic Americana babies.
