1. LOL Lights Glitter dolls are the first black light dolls!
We’ve all seen glow in the dark toys and black light features on some boys’ toys, but Lights Glitter is the first girly doll series that we’ve seen use black lights.
Here’s how it works:
- You get the same cute, glittery type of dolls you get with any glitter series doll (like Bling or Glam Glitter)
- Turn the lights off in the room or put the dolls in a box so the immediate are is dark
- Use the included (or any) black light to see the doll’s new colors and surprise details.
2. The ball is pink and white psychedelic looking.
This series plays tricks on your eyes and mind, so it’s fitting that the ball is really “funky” in that same spirit. Inside, your little one will find a neon display ball (although we don’t think these are that useful or worth keeping).
3. The ball features Optical.
This little cutie is on the cover of LOL Lights Glitter balls.
Why is this important?
Knowing which dolls are on which products also helps you avoid FAKE LOL doll toys that will have a similar look with different dolls.
Optical is NOT necessarily the doll inside. If you’re new to LOL dolls, the doll on the ball is just usually a representative of the series, not an indication of the contents.
4. LOL Lights Glitter has 8 surprises.
Like classic LOLs, Lights Glitter dolls come with 8 surprises:
- Secret message
- Bottle
- Black light
- Accessory #1 (varies based on the doll)

That’s right…every doll comes with her own black light, so you don’t need one. Here’s what it looks like:
Don’t worry if your little one loses this one; dolls will work with other black lights.
5. There are 4 water surprises.
Just because there’s glitter and black light magic doesn’t mean there won’t be water surprises…
Because there are water surprises!
Your little one’s doll will tinkle, spit, color change, or cry. Check out the official collector’s poster to see which doll comes with which water surprise.
6. There are no lil sisters or brothers in LOL Lights Glitter so far unless…
Lights Glitter dolls that are available right now don’t have lil sisters as part of their wave on the collector poster. Will more cuties come as part of a Lils version? Who knows…but that is what happen with Series 5 and 6.
7. Gala Q.T. is a transgender doll?
Leave it to MGA to keep pushing boundaries. First, there are the mostly brown-skinned dolls. Next, there are the anatomically correct boys. Now, there’s Gala Q.T., possibly the first cross dressing or transgender doll.
We can’t be sure whether Gala Q.T. is supposed to be cross dressing, transgender, or just an enthusiastic glamazon, but we do believe she’s based on the lead character from Victor/Victoria. Take a look and then let us know what you think.

8. Only 12 dolls in the series!Like other glitter series, LOL Lights Glitter has only 12 dolls. Perfect if you plan to collect all of them, terrible if you buy 2 at a time. We don’t recommend buying more than 1 at a time from this series because you are VERY likely to get duplicates.

9. Here’s some trivia for LOL Super Fans:
- Cadet is inspired by vintage Girl Scout cadette uniforms.
- Harlequin Girl is based on a harlequin, a sort of Italian clown.
- In Sync is wearing floaties!
- Jammin’ is wearing the colors of the Jamaican flag.
- Dance Bot is inspired by the dance The Robot.
- There are no fancy rarity dolls in series.

May I ask why you think the Gala Q.T. doll is transgender? We have her, we have all but 2 in this collection, and I never got that impression. There’s nothing that I saw that makes her look transgender.
Also, you’re not any more likely to get duplicates with this series. You can buy multiple ones at a time and they’ll almost always be different. We didn’t start getting duplicates until we had 8 out of the series collected. The more you own, the higher your duplicate risk goes.
My mom also got me 5 of these! I got Drip Drop, Dance Bot, Fyre, Ice and Optical. Amazing!
