LOL Series 5 Makeover Series also known as #Hairgoals also known as Series 5 LOL dolls has EVERYONE in suspense. The series was first previewed at the end of Series 4 Under Wraps Eye Spy as potential wave 3.
Now, we’ve seen #Hairgoals but there are still lots of questions.
Is it part of Series 4 or a new Series 5?
Do all the dolls have real rooted hair?
Will there be lil sisters and pets?

1. 20 tots dolls in the LOL Series 5 Makeover Series have hair!
For so, so, so long we have been wanting LOL dolls with hair…
And now we’ve got them!
LOL Bigger Surprise gave us a taste of life with LOL dolls and hair, but those were wigs. The hair in the LOL Series 5 Makeover Series is actually affixed to the head of the dolls. With reasonable care, the hair won’t come out and should last.
Hairstyles vary but think big curls, pony tails, pigtails, bangs, bobs, and buns. Some hairstyles are more comb-able than others. However, we’ve know some people to take the ponytails out.
Be warned, though…
Two of the LOL dolls don’t have real hair. Out of the dolls in the LOL Series 5 Makeover Series, there are 2 dolls that have glitter in wave 1. They are supposed to be rare, but prepare your little one for this possibility BEFORE opening the doll, lest you risk disappointment.
2. What is #Hairgoals LOL Series 5 Makeover Series?
We got so excited about the hair that we got ahead of ourselves. So what is this series all about?
#Hairgoals LOL Makeover Series is Series 5 in the LOL Surprise! universe that includes everything you need for an LOL “salon day.” In addition to getting a doll, your little one will get a bunch of fun items for premade beauty play.
The timing of this series is no mistake. It’s been released to go directly against Hairdorables, a similar surprise doll that does have real hair.
Is it Series 4 wave 3 or Series 5 wave 1? It’s both. MGA Entertainment, the makers of LOL dolls, have switched things up with this series. They previewed Series 5 at the end of Series 4. It threw off all the hardcore LOL doll fans and fueled online speculation.
3. The LOL Series 5 Makeover Series package is a pink hairspray can.
We love the thought that goes into some of the little touches with LOL dolls. The Makeover Series dolls come in a capsule that looks like a pink hairspray can to do with the salon/spa theme. The top pops off just like a real can of hairspray.
Keep this can because it turns into a salon char, display case, doll stand, or purse. Very useful!
4. The wave 1 can features Yang Q.T. The wave 2 can features E.D.M.B.B.
The can for this series wave 1 features Yang Q.T., a dark brown cutie with black and white hair and clothing based on the Chinese yin and yang.
The can for wave 2 with 10 new dolls features E.D.M.B.B.
Why is this important?
If your little one is hoping to get a certain, your only chance is to buy the correct wave. Scroll below for the dolls and their waves.
Knowing which dolls are on which products also helps you avoid FAKE LOL doll toys that will have a similar look with different dolls.
5. There are 15 surprises for Makeover Series tots.
The big thing about this series is the hair. While there are lots of surprises, we’ll let you decide whether they are as good as the Under Wraps Eye Spy surprises.

6. Read these unboxing tips so you don’t miss any surprises!
- The secret message and hair barrette stickers are stuck to the outside of the spray can after you unwrap it.
- The hair curlers are for your little one. They won’t fit the doll.
- There’s a comb inside one hair curler and a bottle inside the other.
- Mystery disguise surprises 1-4 are what the doll is already wearing! Carefully remove the gloves, shoes, mask, and outfit so your little one can use them later.

8. Almost all the tots dolls color change.
We love a good color change and so does the #Hairgoals. Almost all the tots dolls in the series have color change as their water surprise.
The two Glitterati dolls, Glamour Girl and Shimone Queen, DON’T color change. Their water surprises, are crying and tinkling, respectively.
All of the dolls in wave 2 color change as their water surprise.
Even though Makeover Series dolls color change THE HAIR DOESN’T. As per the instructions for the dolls, you should not get the hair wet. It won’t stay nice and pretty if you do.

9. 2 tots dolls are different from the rest!
We’ve been hinting at this, but #Hairgoals dolls are very different from the rest. Glamour Queen and Shimone Queen are part of The Glitterati Club. They come in gold, rather than pink, hairspray cans.
Neither doll has hair, but they do glitter like the other Glitterati dolls. Both are rare so hope and pray that you don’t get one if you want a doll with hair.
Right now, there’s no way to know before you open the package whether you have one with hair. We’ll keep you posted if we find a method.

10. There’s a boy in wave 2!
We’ve getting more boys in the LOL Surprise! universe and Series 5 does not disappoint. Wave 2 includes a new little cutie named Tough Guy. He’s styled like “The Fonz” from Happy Days.
In case you weren’t aware, LOL boys are anatomically correct…
Meaning…
They have a frank and beans.
And it’s quite obvious. If your little one doesn’t know about the differences between boys and girls yet, you might want to stick to wave 1, since it only has girls.
11. Here’s some trivia for LOL Super Fans:
- Technically, #Hairgoals Makeover Series is wave 3 of Series 4 AND Series 5 wave 1. It was previewed on the Series 4 poster. #Hairgoals dolls also have mystery disguises like other Under Wraps tots. Moreover, their numbers insert into Series 4.
- #Hairgoals has the second Michael Jackson inspired tots doll. There’s Shimone and Thrilla, from Series 4 wave 2. MGA must LOVE Michael Jackson.
- Glamour Queen is inspired by Marilyn Monroe. Her outfit is similar to the one Marilyn Monroe wore in the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes but her pose is from the movie The Seven Year Itch.
- Oops Baby is inspired by Britney Spears. The name is from the song Oops I Did It Again but the outfit is from the video for Baby One More Time.
- Sk8er Grrrl is the big sister for Lil Sk8er Boi, a lil brother.
- Rainbow Raver is the first LOL tots doll to have a pacifier. There are more to come with the Winter Disco Glitter Globe tots.

For LOL Series 5 Makeover Series, MGA is changing it up again!
Lil sisters, lil brothers, and lil pets are grouped into one surprise cylinder.
That’s right…in Series 5 you can get a lil sister, a lil brother, or a lil pet. You won’t know which!
Just like all the other lils, lil sisters and brothers in Series 5 color change as their water surprise.
The cylinder is actually a big hair curler…so cute.

14. There are 2 new lil brothers in LOL Series 5 Makeover Series.
We love the LOL lil brothers. They are super cute and a bit less controversial than the LOL boy tots.
LOL Series 5 Makeover Series brings 2 new boys, both in the Athletic Club. Lil Caddy Boi is the lil brother to Caddy Cutie from Series 4 Under Wraps Eye Spy wave 1 and Lil Bro Cheer is the lil brother to Sis Cheer from Series 4 Under Wraps Eye Spy wave 2.
