First we had #hairgoals…now we’ve got #hairvibes! Clearly, we are throwing off the vibe that we want style-able hair that is over-the-top. Fortunately, #hairvibes overcomes some of the limitations of previous LOL hair series. The hair is more attached to the dolls’ heads AND your little one gets more styling options. Awesome!

1. All the dolls have hair!
We loved #hairgoals, but there were 2 dolls in the series that didn’t have hair. If your little one was unlucky and got one of these, she was probably angry and you probably felt like you had been robbed.
You don’t have to worry about that with #hairvibes, though. All dolls have cool hair with lots of style combinations. In addition, since all LOL tots dolls are the same size, you can mix hair from other dolls in #hairvibes AND dolls in other series.
2. The #hairvibes package is a sky blue and pink polka dot ball.
The new ball is also about 50% larger and more egg shaped than previous surprise balls.
3. The ball features Peanut Buttah.
This little cutie is on the cover of #hairvibes balls.
Why is this important?
If your little one is hoping to get a certain, your only chance is to buy the correct wave. Scroll below for the dolls and their waves.
Knowing which dolls are on which products also helps you avoid FAKE LOL doll toys that will have a similar look with different dolls.
Peanut Buttah is NOT necessarily the doll inside. If you’re new to LOL dolls, the doll on the ball is just usually a representative of the series, not an indication of the contents.
4. There are 15 surprises for #hairvibes tots.
The big thing about this series is the hair. While there are lots of surprises, we’ll let you decide whether they are as good as the Winter Disco or Makeover Series (which also had hair) surprises.

5. There’s a new unboxing!
Read these unboxing tips, so you don’t miss any surprises.
- Peel the first layer off to reveal different styles for dolls.
- Beneath the second layer, your little one will find the secret message. The rest of the surprises are inside the ball.
- Half of the ball is covered with plastic “plates.” Open the plates to find hair pieces carefully intact and looking gorgeous.
Thankfully, there are still lots of blind bags full of accessories to enjoy opening.

7. Hair pieces are mix and match.
The hair pieces only cover half of the dolls head so your little one can style them in interesting new ways. She can change them side to side or front to back, creating even more styles than if she were just using wigs.
Plastic wigs can be mixed and matched with the hair pieces for more #hairvibes fun. Just a warning, if you take of the plastic wig the doll is already wearing, you will be able to see her velcro “brain.” Be prepared to answer questions, so your little one doesn’t freak out. The velcro is there for the hair pieces to stick to and not fall off.
You can even mix and match hair pieces between dolls. As if we needed an incentive to buy more than one!
8. All #hairvibes tots dolls color change.
We love a good color change and so does the #hairvibes. All tots dolls in the series have color change as their water surprise. Some change in warm water; some change in cold water. Be sure to try both.
Even though dolls color change THE HAIR DOESN’T. As per the instructions for the dolls, you should not get the hair wet. It won’t stay nice and pretty if you do.
In fact, encourage your little one to gently place the doll in water, rather than dunking her. Hair bangs on the front should not get wet. Moreover, we recommend putting the hair wrap on the protect the doll’s head from the water. Hair pieces may not stick to the head if the surface is wet.

9. There are no little sisters in #hairvibes so far.
#hairvibes dolls that are available right now don’t have lil sisters as part of their wave on the collector poster. Will more cuties come as part of a Lils version? Who knows…but that is what happen with Series 5 and 6.
10. There’s 1 boy!
We’ve had lots of boys integrated into LOL doll series over the past year, and there’s even a standalone Boy Series. This trend is likely to continue.
In #hairvibes, we get a cutie named Da Fresh. We think he’s modeled after MC Hammer because of the “hammer pants.” He could also be a Will Smith copy from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air tv show. Either way, he’s definitely a 90s boy.
In case you weren’t aware, LOL boys are anatomically correct…
Meaning…
They have a frank and beans.
And it’s quite obvious. If your little one doesn’t know about the differences between boys and girls yet, you might want to stick to an LOL surprise toy like #OOTD Winter Disco, since you know which doll you will get in the unboxing.
11. Here’s some trivia for LOL Super Fans:
- Supreme Queen sports a beehive hairdo just like Diana Ross and the ladies from 1950s and 1960s girl super group The Supremes.
- Jelly Jam and Peanut Buttah are the “opposites” peanut butter and jelly–but we think they go great together! BTW, Jelly Jam is grape jelly.
- Da Fresh, complete with harem pants, is modeled after MC Hammer (although we could agree with suggestions that he could be the Fresh Prince of Bel Air).
- Blackbelt is inspired by anime girls that frequently sport a double bun hairstyle (try this on your little one–it’s super cute).
- Scuba Babe is the first tots doll (that’s part of a regular series) to be added to the Swim Club since Series 3 Confetti Pop.

I have finally bought the lol “hair vibes” surprise for my daughter but she is just frustrated with it because any of the hair doesn’t stay on at all. I feel bad to return it because I don’t think they could resell it after opening. Any suggestions?
Hi Mila, you can try submitting a complaint to MGA LOL Surprise Customer Care, but I think you may be stuck with it. We’ve had some luck with #hairvibes, but it varies by doll. If she still wants dolls with hair, I would recommend #hairgoals dolls because the hair is stitched in, not a wig.
