LOL Lights Pets: 5 things to know about black light pets

LOL Lights Pets are out and boy are they mutts! Ok, we mean that in a nice way because we love the LOL pets. Lights Pets are a mashup of all the recent pet tricks (pun intended) from MGA Entertainment, the makers of LOL dolls. Glow in the dark? Check. Combable fur? Check. Pet disguise? Check. So much for your little one to play with!

We’ve pulled together a parents’ mini-guide of 5 things you need to know about the Lights Pets BEFORE you buy. These guys are currently retailing for around $11.88. Check the price on Amazon–and if it’s close–BUY! You’ll save time, gas, and sanity.

1. The coolest thing about Lights Pets is they glow with a black light.

And before you ask…

Yes, the pet comes with its own black light.

That’s right…every pet comes with its own black light, so you don’t need one. Here’s what it looks like:

Don’t worry if your little one loses this one; pets will work with other black lights, including the ones from Lights Glitter dolls.

PRO TIP: We recommend only using one black light at a time if you buy multiple dolls and pets. That way, you have backups in case one breaks.

Turn the lights off in the room or put the pets in a box so the immediate surroundings are dark.

When your little one uses the black light, she will see the clothing and accessories glow.

2. LOL Lights Pets have REAL pet hair.

Ok it’s not REAL fur. It’s the usual plastic doll hair, but it is still fun to comb.

When your little one first unboxes her pet, it will come with a bunch of different colored, different styled, curly and straight hair on it. She has to peel all that off to get to the pet.

PRO TIP: Keep this removable fur! It can be used again and is one of the surprises. You can also use it with other pets.

Keep in mind:

• The pet on the LOL ball is NOT always the pet inside. There are 12 different pets your little one can get.
• When the pet is first unboxed, she will be wearing a different face. Peel this coating off to see the real pet.
• Your little one can wash the pet with hair, but she should air dry the hair. No blow dryers.
• Don’t stick the hair to anything but dolls and pets. If you do, the stickiness will wear off.

3. There are 9 surprises.

Accessories will differ based on the pet your little one gets. Some will be shoes, some will be collars, just depends. The extra hair surprise is the hair she removed from the pet.

4. Your little one can wear the clips!

The clips are big enough to be worn by your little one or styled with other LOL dolls. Wonderful!

5. It’s returnable if you buy from Amazon.

When a notice popped up on Amazon that this item is returnable, we were super excited! If your LOL pet comes with backwards legs, wrong accessories, or whatever, apparently now you can pack it up and send it back to Amazon.
