Shopkins are everywhere! Fortunately, there’s a doll companion to the small grocery collectibles called Shopkins Shoppies.
If your little one has been playing the addictive Shopkins Chef Club game (I know I have), she is familiar with the older girls with cute names who give out bonuses or congratulations. If your little one has never played the game but just loves Shopkins, she might know the human girls that are part of the Shopkins universe.
These, my friend, are the Shopkins Shoppies.
One of the 2018 Shoppies Shopkins series to be released is called Shop Style.

1. Shopkins Shoppies are collectibles, but they aren’t surprise toys.
Thank goodness! I was tired of waiting with baited breath every time my little one unwrapped a ball. Would it be the same doll she already has? Would all the pieces be there?
Fortunately, with Shopkins Shoppies, you don’t have to wonder. You can clearly see all the contents inside the plastic package.
On each package, you can see:
- The Shopkins Shoppies name
- Her image so you can compare it to the doll you are getting (they are pretty close!)
- The contents
- Shopkins Shoppies series, if there is one (more on this in a moment)
- For ages 5+
5 years old is definitely the minimum age for this group of dolls. Younger children may stick the small pieces in their mouths or ears.
2. There are different series of Shopkins Shoppies, each with different dolls, contents, and prices.
One aspect parents’ rarely notice when buying Shopkins Shoppies is that there are different series. Regular Shopkins come out in series and Shopkins Shoppies may be released with them.
Each series has different dolls with different contents and prices. This parents’ guide is for the Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style series 10. The dolls in this series are all around the same price point and have similar contents.
Other series that have come out recently are Shopkins Shoppies Lil’ Secrets and World Vacation. Dolls in these series cost slightly more than Shop Style shoppies because they have a few bonuses.
3. Don’t throw away the doll stand.
Once your little one opens the Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style package, she will see a clear disc with a notch on top. It looks like trash…
But it isn’t!
This clear piece is the doll stand. You’ll need the stand because shoppies have disproportionately big heads. Their plastic and rubber bodies are too small to support the weight of the head, so shoppies can’t stand on their own.
Your little one can angle them to sit down (propped up against something), but she won’t be able to get them to stand.
Fortunately, the doll stand hold up the doll. Simply click the notch on the stand into the hole in the bottom of one of the shoes.
4. Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style come with a doll, comb, mini doll-sized magazine, and matching mini shopkin.
The matching mini shopkin coordinates with the Shop Style Shoppie and is exclusive, so it’s only available as part of this set.

5. Shopkins Shoppies are sized to fit inside other Shopkins products.
Shop Style Shoppies are about 5.5 inches tall. They are nearly twice the height of LOL Surprise dolls.
While 5.5 inches may seem small, they are perfectly sized to fit with other Shopkins toys. If you own (or plan to buy) the juice truck, beauty parlor, or any of the other playsets, you’ll find Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style dolls size compatible.
6. Your little one can style the Shopkins Shoppies hair.
One of the most obvious and super best things about Shopkins Shoppies is that you can style the hair. This is what my little one has been waiting for!
She loves using the included comb on her shoppie’s hair. It’s long enough, after you get past the side-swept bangs, that she’s gets real satisfaction from hair styling.
However, the curly light purple hair of Pommie, is best left unstyled. If your little one combs it. The hair won’t ever be the same.
In general, the hair is securely fastened into the doll’s head so you don’t have to worry about hair fall and seeing the follicles (like you do when the doll is not well made).
7. Some parts of the outfit are interchangeable.
Little girls get great joy from changing doll clothes. It allows them to experiment with fashion, extends doll play, and keeps them busy.
Luckily, Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style dolls do have some pieces that can be mixed and matched with Shopkins Shoppies of ANY series.
Each Shop Style doll wears a printed fabric skirt, detailed shoes, and headband that can be removed. All the pieces are easy enough for a 5 year old to remove unassisted.

8. Shopkins Shoppies have a limited range of motion.
Shop Style dolls can move a bit. There are sockets for the legs and arms that allow them to be posed, but the head only really moves from side to side.
If you want Shopkins Shoppies with a better range of motion, try the Lil’ Secrets shoppies.
9. There’s a VIP card for the Shopkins world app included.
One of the official Shopkins games is called Shopkins World. There are games, mini games, and playable shops inside. While the game is free to download, only some of the shops are available for free.
In order to unlock more shops, your little one need a VIP card. Thankfully, Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style dolls come with a VIP card that can be used in shopkins World.
10.There are 4 Shopkins Shoppies Shop Style dolls to collect.
Thank goodness there are only 4 to collect. You can easily get them all (over time) for your little one rather than spending lots of money trying to collect 35+ dolls.

What We Like
- The combable hair is really adorable. Hair that could be styled was one of the things missing from LOL dolls. It really enhances the play longevity of the toy when there are multiple ways to style a doll, other than just changing the clothes.
- Although Shopkins Shoppies are small, there are some cute little details worth noticing. The fabric skirt is well printed, the makeup is long lasting, and the tiny shopkin that comes with the doll coordinates perfectly.
What We Don’t Like
- It would have been great if the top of the dress was fabric and could be removed as well. More pieces would allow for more interchangeable outfits. However, the static top isn’t a deal breaker.
- Shopkins Shoppies have big heads and a limited range of motion. Your little one can pose them a bit by moving the arms and legs, but the head only moves side to side.
Final Verdict
As a parent, I had been struggling with whether to buy Shopkins for my little one. Shopkins are everywhere and she likes them, but I could see her easily getting tired of the mini-grocery toys. So you can imagine my excitement when the Shopkins Shoppies came out. Here’s a little doll that she could finally play with that was part of the Shopkins universe AND she wouldn’t get tired of.
